When it comes to patient handling in the Hospital setting, a common issue is reaching over the bed to assist the patient.
With the implementation of NDIS to better ensure social inclusion and equality for people with disabilities, both profound and complex, the Australian Building Codes board (ABCB) amended the NCC to require the construction of separate accessible adult change facilities (AACF) in public buildings including shopping centres and other public assembly buildings. Active Medical have welcomed the updates, as the Allied Health workers we work with, often comment about facilities in public places, like Shopping Centres, Sporting Arena’s and Theatres, not having adequate amenities.
Active Medical is once again proud to announce our adherence to ISO 9001:2015. Quality Assurance, process and a commitment to excellence represents the nucleus of our Business Ethos. Working closely with patients, residents and the disabled community, we are ethically and legally obliged to only offer the best service, backed by air tight policies. The ISO Audit process has identified that Active Medical has successfully reached all the prerequisites for accreditation.
According to a study conducted by Birmingham City University The number of adverse movements a patient needs to make when standing up on a standard bed is more than 50% greater when compared with a bed equipped with a lateral tilt or Mobi-Lift® handle.
The Eleganza 5 (E5) new progressive features work in conjunction for early patient mobilization and reduces patient bed exit effort by 50%. The Care goals in terms of design have been based around Quick & Safe Recovery, Reduced Physical Effort + Lower treatment costs due to shorter hospitalisation.
As seen in the below graph, The number of adverse movements a patient needs to make when standing up on a standard bed is more than 50% greater when compared with a bed equipped with a lateral tilt or Mobi-Lift® handle.
When exiting the bed the patient has 3 big aids to put him back on his feet. Mobilization can begin soon so the patient can gain in self-confidence. This also removes the physical strain on staff.
Mobil Lift – UNIQUE! The patient controls the bed height using the Mobi-Lift® handle.
Side Rails – Ergonomically shaped handles in the siderails.
Lateral Tilt – The height setting and side tilt will assist the patient’s bed exit.

The JUVO Shower Chair range can now be customised with coloured seats. We took the time to ask our Aged Care and Home Care Support Representative, Isabella West, some questions about the customisation and why our clients love the concept.
The Image fully respects the ergonomic principles in healthcare. The functions respond to the needs of healthcare specialists and the patient’s increased safety requirements. Control is intuitive and operation is easy and simple.
